Here it is the Eve of our big debut and I haven't even picked my first book. I am currently reading "To Kill a Mockingbird". I've read this book several times in the past. Once in Middle school and a second time in High School. Its been 10+ years since I last read it. One of my favorite books of all time.
Some interesting facts. I don't remember the entire story, plot, and ending. At this time in my life I find it interesting that the book is written through the life of a 10 year old girl. I find the wording and depiction of events to be far superior than her mentality. I am able to better determine the mentality of a child this age as I have a son who is 10. I am wondering why this book is/was on my list of all time favorites. I think this is the case because I've been able to read hundreds of books between the years and while the story is great and the writing is good, I find that simply, there are better more interesting stories out there. I am about 3/4 of the way through the book. Let me finish it up and make a final more accurate assessment.
And let's hope that in the morning I am able to better chose my books for this coming week!
